Carol "Holiday" Coleman is seeking other FULL TIME WORKING CLOWNS to form a Clowning Group just for full time clowns.  In the past few years clowning has changes. The Full Time Working Clown is now only a very small number.  My real job is CLOWNING, not many can answer that.  We now have:

                Hobby Clowns

               Clowns That Working Weekend Only

               Christian Clowning

               Caring Clowns

               Circus Clowns

The clowning publications seem to only address articles on these styles of clowning.   Mainly they focus on Caring Clowns, Christian Clowning, and Circus Clowning.    The work force of clowning is FULL TIME CLOWNING, we are out there everyday earning a living at clowning. We are what the public views as clowns daily. We are small business owners, and not working for agents.    I feel the pay scale of clowning is set by the working force of full time clowns.  Many new or hobby clowns will work for just TIPS or FREEBIE clowning. This style, of give it away clowning hurts the pay scale of all clowns.  The strong working clown is a professional they would not view an event without pay.  They will work a donation of their time via their accountant advise for tax reason only.  A clown that is going out the door has COST, (supplies of balloons, supplies of face paints, magic, wardore, make-up, preparing time, driving time, gas, set-up, de-make-up time, and more), no person can do an event for FREE with-out a lost.   The reason some clowns are now doing this is because we have clowns being taught by new clowns with not enough education themself.  They have not the knowledge or years of experience and are viewing this as a professional trade.   If  you have an interest in the WORK FORCE of clowning at a professional level please reach me via email at:   holidaytheclown@att.net.   I would like start a group for support and input of the FULL TIME WORKING CLOWNS.
